That's right, folks! We're running a Mature Content fanart contest over on Nameksei.net. If you're interested in participating, here are the rules.

1. The theme of the contest is BDSM fetish pinups. If you're not sure what that means, Google it and prepare to be amazed.

2. There must be at least ONE Namek in the picture! After all we ARE a Namek fan community. Canon AND original characters are welcome.
3. The contest begins as of now and the deadline is Monday, April 2nd, with the results to be announced on Saturday, April 7th.

4. ALL ENTRIES ARE TO BE SENT IN TO NAMEKSEI.NET. This is important, because the entries will be anonymously posted in our fan gallery and voted on there. If you're NOT a member and you're interested in looking, hie thee on over and join up. The contest entries WILL NOT be posted on DA. There's been way too much asshattery going on here as of late and the last thing we want is a bunch of idiots screaming "OH NOES!!! PROOOON!!!" and running to the mods to have us banned. When you have your entry ready email it to admin@nameksei.net with the subject line Pin Up Contest Entry.

5. Prizes... Yes, we all know that's what you REALLY want to enter for. *wink* Well, sad to say, I'm too po' to offer a subscription to DA as a prize this time around. Besides, I know some aren't interested... Sooooo.... I happen to have a practically MINT condition Blue Lynx doujinshi (Dragon Ball vol. 6) that I'm willing to offer up to the winner should they want it. I'll post some scans from it over on Nameksei so folks can see it.

Things are proceeding apace over our website, Nameksei.net. We had an SQL outage over the weekend, but after I sporked my hosting service they got it fixed with no problems. For those of you who are curious about Nameksei.net, here's a sampling of the goodies that we offer our members!

1. Forums - Come on over and read what's going on, make posts to your friends, ask questions of other Namek fans!

2. Private Messages - for conversations you don't want made public.

3. Chat Room - 24/7 chat room for when you wanna yak with Namekfans in realtime

4. Fanart Gallery - Fully automated art gallery for those artists who would care to use it. We do not discriminate against mature content as long as it's in the appropriate areas. Anything goes. And it's a HECK of a lot easier to upload to than DA. >.>

5. Fanfiction Archives - Fully automated fic archives for the writers out there looking for a good location to archive their stories. As with the fanart gallery, we accept mature content material and have an age verification process to keep those under age out of things they shouldn't be into.

6. Community - We're hoping to see Namek fans from all over join us and keep the fandom alive. There's more of us out there than you think there might be! Come join us!

Okay, here's the lowdown, folks. I would like to offer a TREMENDOUS apology for the club being all but DEAD for the last 4-5 months. >< I was taking fifteen hours over the semester and dealing with a home and two kids pretty much all by myself. My hubby's in the army and he's away more than he's home, so I'm the mom and the dad most of the time. Again... Sooooooo sorry guys. ><

Now... *pushes aside abject grovelling*

1: Clan Daimaou: I'd like to get the club back up and going as I know all the old (and probably a lot of new!) Piccolo fans are still lurking about DA. Any suggestions and such would be helpful. I'm also considering a second co-admin as my normal co-admin has a lot on her plate at the moment too. If anyone is interested, please send me a note. Tell me what a great Piccolo fan you are and what you can do to help the club out and if you have time to help out. ^^

2: Nameksei.net: IS BACK UP!!!!! I'm still doing some fine tuning and there's tweaks that need to be made, but the site is back up and open for submissions both fanfiction and fanart. We have a forum for the discussion of all things Namek related as well as journals and private messaging available. There's a lot of cool stuffs there and I'd love to see Nameksei.net become a vibrant hub for all the Namek fans desperately searching the internet for green goodness!

Again, as with Clan Daimaou here on DA, Nameksei.net will need some people to serve as moderators to help out when I don't have the time. I will need at least one mod for the fanfiction archives, the fanart gallery and the forum. If you're interested, again, drop me a note and strike up a convo with me.

Hey guys, so damned sorry for the lateness of this reply. *blows off some dust* As you can tell, things have gotten a little less busy around here. That's not from complete neglect of this club, or the fact that we've forgotten about the contest... we haven't. Unfortunately for the both of us- the Mistress and I- live has gotten a bit busy. She's enrolled in college, and is taking several advanced 8 week courses. As for myself, I'm taking advanced upper level painting courses as well as my usual routine of needed core classes. I do apologize for those that HAVE submitted pictures and they simply haven't been uploaded to the website. Thank you, *Kieri for reminding me about it.

We haven't forgotten about any of you, OR the fact that nameksei.net is down.

Okay... updates...

For those who are curious and have asked, we're setting July 23rd as the cut off date for entries in the Nameksei.net Mascot Contest. The reason it's so far away is because I'm in the process of moving from one state to another, so that's going to be consuming my time for the next month or so. And it gives folks a while to work on their entries. ^^

Secondly... the Clan Slave and I have been kicking around the idea of opening up a lil Cafe Press shop to raise a bit of funds for site maintenence and such. I dislike the idea of asking for donations, because if you guys give us fundage, you should get something tangible back. I know that there are people who don't really like CafePress, but I don't know of any alternatives. Any questions, opinions or suggestions would be more than welcome! I'll open up a poll over at the Nameksei.net Community Center if you guys want to go and vote. Any and all feedback will be MUCHLY appreciated!! Thanks!
